Houston, we are GO for launch!

Forecast is expected to be low to mid-70's. Wind speed and direction are still a bit of an issue, so I will continue to monitor that closely. I am not very optimistic regarding Lake Michigan due to gale force winds expected today and tomorrow. If Lake Michigan is forecast to be too rough, we will avoid it completely and run our "half-looped" route.

We are NOT stopping at DuSable Harbor this year. Due to our date of May 1st, the Chicago Harbors are already open, and slip holders are beginning to populate the harbor. If anyone chooses to stop at any Chicago harbor, you are doing so individually, and not as part of the CLC.

I may personally try stopping along the wall at Ping Tom Park, but will make that decision when I get there. More info to follow shortly via email.

Only one week remaining before the scheduled 2010 Chicago Loop Cruise!! I hope the weather forecast is better than what is expected this coming weekend, although we have run this event in cool weather and rain.

Get your gear on board, coolers packed, and gas tank filled! Its just about time to Get Looped!!

The DoubleTree hotel is holding 10 more rooms for us through midnight, Sunday April 18, 2010. Get your reservations in now if you have not already done so.

Registration for the 2010 CLC is now open. No registrations will be accepted beyond Friday, April 9. 2010.

Logistical challenges will require the event to begin Friday night April 30, 2010, with the actual cruise on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Be sure to check the details page for contingency plans.

We will not have a fancy "package" of goodies again this year due to limited budgets and time. We will, however, have yet another really cool t-shirt, and everyone must order at least one.

Please make sure you begin to keep daily tabs on this website as information will begin coming out quickly.

There will be a 2010 Chicago Loop Cruise. I am firming up details and will be updating this site to reflect this year's details over the next few days.

Please do NOT attempt to register yet. I will post a new message in the next few days when I am ready to process registrations.

Sorry guys - those close to me know I am wrestling with all kinds of things. Sorry to keep everyone in the dark for so long. I definitely love the comments and emails though - you guys really know how to keep my spirits high, and for that, I am very grateful.

Decision will come not later than this weekend Saturday, March 13, 2010. Will that work for everyone?!!

That is the $64k question... do we do it again in 2010? It would be the 10th year....

But is it boring because its "more of the same"?

I normally wait until Thursday to make this call, but the forecast appears to be stable so I am making the "go" call now. Forecast is expected to be mid-80's, which will make this one of the warmest CLC's in the event's history. Please get your hotels booked ASAP for the 2009 CLC. I realize I am a bit delayed in registration details, but all this stuff is going to start coming out FAST!

And remember, a hotel room is a GREAT idea even if you are local. The Friday night bar stool raft-up is the biggest party of the event, and it is a lot safer, and more fun, to head to the hotel after the event than to tow home after a very long day on the water!

I appreciate everyone's patience... I should have info in place by the end of this week. That is cutting it close, but I want to do what I did last year, which is release all info at once, then have a really small window for registrations so I am not processing this info forever.
