2010 CLC Details2010 Chicago Loop CruiseThe 2010 Chicago Loop Cruise is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2010. If you are new to the Chicago Loop Cruise, be sure to visit the History and Slideshow links above to get a "flavor" of what this event really is, and how it came to be! This event is primarily a gathering of Crownline boat owners, most of whom have come to know one another through Team Crownline and/or CrownieHQ. If you have learned about this event from a different boating forum, or wish to discuss it outside either of these forums, please be sure to read this important FAQ: Can I discuss this event on other boating forums. Owning a Crownline brand boat is not a requirement to participate on that forum, nor is it a requirement for attending this event. This event is not endorsed by, nor affiliated with anyone - the single purpose of the Chicago Loop Cruise is to have a great day on your boat, enjoy the company of friends, and quite possibly - meet some new ones Contingency DateIf the weather forecast for Saturday May 1 is not favorable, the event will shift to Sunday May 2nd. If that day is also a wash-out, we will postpone until one week (May 8th), again targeting Saturday, then Sunday as the alternative. Keep both weekends open if you really want to attend this event. The final “go/no-go” call will be made 2-3 days prior based upon on the weather forecast. A “go” call will be made for the first reasonably comfortable dry day. Every attempt will be made to reach a final decision before the cancellation period required by the hotels. LimitationsThe Chicago Loop Cruise has evolved into a fairly popular event despite occuring under sometimes less than ideal conditions. This is a fantastic testament to the loyal particpants and a huge factor in my motivation to continue this event. Now that the fluff is out the way, let's get down to what this really means. Our event is limited by factors beyond my control. These "factors" are most notably hotel availability and launch ramp capacity. Boat count is a larger factor than headcount, therefore, participation will be limited to 100 boats. As the registration initially grows, all registrations will be treated equally. In the event registration exceeds 100 boats, I will ask that all participants attempt to consolidate their group onto as few as boats as possible. If registration remains in excess of 100 boats following all consolidation attempts, the following rules shall apply to determine those who will definitely attend vs. those who are on "stand-by". 1) Crownline owner - Crownline Boats, Inc. is our primary sponsor and ownership of a Crownline brand boat gets you a first class ticket to the Chicago Loop Cruise. Double first class if you are a Munson Marine customer!!!! CostAs in prior years, it is expected that the event itself will be free. However, the right is reserved to impose a modest registration fee should it become necessary. Launching and parking at the ramp in Worth is $10 for tow vehicle and trailer. There is a $2 fee for vehicles without trailers. If no attendant is on duty, payment is via an honor box, so have exact change. Our sponsors typically provide a number of promotional items which are distributed among all participants. Additionally, a "Chicago Loop Cruise" branded package of goodies will be available for purchase shortly. Disclaimer and Waiver of LiabilityThis event is in no way endorsed by or affiliated with Crownline Boats Inc., its affiliates, or its employees.
Your participation, and the participation of those in your group, is entirely at your own risk. There is no assumption of liability by anyone for this event. Ensure the safety of yourself, your passengers and other participants by taking appropriate safety precautions. By registering for and/or participating in the 2010 Chicago Loop Cruise, you agree that neither the sponsors, volunteers nor anyone affiliated with the 2010 Chicago Loop Cruise event, will be held responsible for any accidents, thefts, vandalism, personal injury, or property damage arising directly, or indirectly, that may occur. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crownline Boats Inc., event sponsors and event volunteers, collectively, or their officers and assistants individually, from all cost, expense, and liability which may be caused, by any act or failure to act, by anyone associated with the 2010 Chicago Loop Cruise. |
