The Chicago Loop Cruise has a block of rooms at the DoubleTree Hotel, 708-371-7300 in Alsip. The group rate is $92/night (plus tax) for Friday and/or Saturday. The hotel has an indoor pool, exercise room, restaurant, bar and numerous other amenities. Enter "CLC" (without the quotes) in the box marked "Group/Convention Code" to receive the discounted rate. Room quantities are limited, so book your room ASAP to take advantage of this rate. The discounted rate is only available for reservations made prior to 4/9/2010, after which, rates will be the then current rate (which could be double, or more!). Make sure you guarantee your reservation if you plan to arrive after 6:00pm or you may find yourself without a room upon late arrival! Cancellation without penalty is 24 hrs in advance.

Immediately next door to the DoubleTree is the Days Inn, Alsip, (708) 371-5600. This is a basic motel, without any of the amenities available at the DoubleTree, but you can walk next door and enjoy the restaurant and lounge at the DoubleTree. Ideally, our primary hotel will be the DoubleTree, with overflow going to the Days Inn only if/when our block is sold out.

Both hotels are approximately 5 minutes away from the launch site and are located on 127th street, just west of I-294 in Alsip, Illinois. You are responsible for your own reservations, cancellations, etc.

You are strongly advised to book a hotel room even if you are local to the Chicago metropolitan area. The event will be a long day, and fatigue will be a serious consideration. You will also have the opportunity to meet many other participants - who might soon become good friends - by staying at the hotels. Seriously - do yourself and family a favor - it is better to stay in a hotel for the evening than risk driving home towing a several ton package under questionable conditions.
